Setting monthly financial goals is the first step to creating a steady income selling art. Although you cannot control how much art will sell each month, you can always control how much art you create and make available for sale. This challenge is designed to keep you motivated to create artwork between commissions and other commitments.
You cannot control how much art will sell each month, you can always control how much art you create and make available for sale.
Instructions: First determine how much artwork you will create and make available during your challenge. Consider your monthly revenue goal, your available studio time and scheduling demands. Your stated retail goal should reflect the amount of revenue you wish to earn, but also challenge you to work intentionally and efficiently.
Record each completed artwork that was finished and made available for sale during the challenge. Remember, it only counts if it is completely finished and available for sale (listed in an online shop, delivered to a gallery or other sales venue.)
Some things to remember:
- Taking the challenge with a friend (or group of friends) is a great way to stay motivated and inspired. You can do this privately, or within the Art & Prosper Facebook Group.
- It doesn’t fully count towards the challenge until it has been made available for sale. This can look like delivering a piece of work to a gallery or venue where it may sell, or listing the item for sale online. However you move your work to market is fine, so long as it is ready to deliver, priced, and showing or listed somewhere a buyer can find and purchase it.
- We would wish you good luck, but we know you got this!
